Dynamic Active Region Up Close 
We zoomed in to showcase the kind of rapid-fire action that a pair of active region can produce. The video, taken in extreme ultraviolet light, covers about two days and features more than a dozen flares and other eruptions (Oct. 26-28, 2013). The Sun is just about at its maximum level of activity these days and this video suggests what that looks like.
