Active Regions in Profile 
A group of active regions rotated into view producing a bright tangle of looping arches above them (Apr. 11-15, 2015). The loops, made visible in a wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light, are actually charged particles tracing magnetic field lines that emanate from these active regions. Active regions are capable of producing significant solar storms. We will see what they produce as they rotate to where they are facing towards Earth. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA.
