A Couple of Active Regions 
Two active regions were showing off their twisting magnetic field lines over a two-day period (May 9-11, 2018). Active regions are areas of intense magnetic struggles. When observed in extreme ultraviolet light, the tangles of magnetic field lines are illuminated by charged particles spinning along those lines. Active regions have been rather scarce lately, so it was unusual to see two at once that were relatively close-to each other. These regions are often the source of solar storms.
