Looping arcs magnetically connected two active regions separated by over 200,000 miles (Mar. 15-18, 2015). The series of arches consist of charged particles spiraling along magnetic field lines that extend between areas of opposite polarity. They are clearly visible in this wavelength of extreme ultraviolet. The video covers about three and a half days of activity. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA.
